From a tiny tea kiosk on a Bhubaneswar roadside to multi-city QSR chains, entertainment hubs, and fitness ventures, Drimpul Jena’s story feels like a blueprint for every young Indian chasing a dream with determination and heart. As the founder of Drim Group, he has built an empire brick by brick, often without resources, support, or certainty. What carried him through was belief in his vision and a work ethic that refused to slow down.

Mr. Jena’s entrepreneurial spark ignited in 2014 while he was still studying. Everyone expected him to follow the usual route of securing a stable job and stepping into corporate life. Instead, he surprised everyone by opening a small kulhad tea kiosk. The idea received mixed reactions. Many questioned why an MBA student would choose that path. For Drimpul, the answer was simple. Tea is an emotion in Odisha. It connects people. He believed that if he could elevate this everyday ritual, people would respond.
The beginning was filled with struggle. Long days, little sleep, social judgment, inconsistent sales, and the constant pressure to prove himself tested him deeply. Some days were extremely discouraging, but quitting was never an option for him. Gradually, his unique blends and playful experiments, including the hugely popular “Sabse Kharab Chai,” began capturing attention. Crowds gathered so consistently that traffic police would sometimes step in to manage the rush. A small idea was now turning into something much larger.
Tea Junction’s organic rise soon caught the attention of the Ambuja Neotia Group, who became partners after witnessing the brand’s growing success. What began as informal conversations quickly evolved into a shared vision for scaling the café into more structured retail environments. Once the group understood Tea Junction’s growing impact and potential, the collaboration naturally progressed into a formal partnership, giving the brand the backing it needed while keeping its core identity intact.

With Tea Junction spreading into top cities across Odisha, Drimpul began exploring new verticals under Dream Group. He launched Drunken Elephant, their tender coconut shake was a brand that saw phenomenal growth and sold nearly 200 tons of premix in its first year. He then introduced Biryani Depot, built on bold flavours, premium homemade ghee, and eco-friendly sal leaf packaging. The brand made a strong entry into the market, earning hefty lakh rupees in its first month. He also founded an inspired story brand Mamarita.
Understanding the need for modern entertainment options in Odisha, Drimpul is about to develop advanced VR and Play Zones featuring 360-degree VR cinemas and high-immersion gaming simulators. Alongside these ventures, he invested in fitness by establishing his own gym, giving young people a supportive space to build discipline and healthier lifestyles.

What defines Drimpul’s journey is not just the businesses he created, but his unwavering mindset. He represents the new wave of young entrepreneurs who seek to solve real gaps in the market rather than wait for perfect circumstances. His dedication is total. He keeps long hours, focuses intensely on quality, and constantly learns and adapts. Every new store opened in a city feels like a personal win for him, not just a business expansion.
Looking ahead, Drimpul has ambitious plans. He aims to take Tea Junction into major metros across India, scale Drunken Elephant across states, push Biryani Depot into franchise mode, and build one of Odisha’s biggest integrated entertainment and fitness ecosystems. His strategy is straightforward. Identify the gaps, build the solution, and move with speed and clarity.
From a roadside tea stall to respected partnerships, from early struggles to large-scale strategy, and from self-doubt to recognition, Drimpul Jena shows that greatness does not require a perfect starting point. It requires courage, consistency, and belief in a dream.
