British Prime Minister resigns 45 days after the election


The shortest-serving British prime minister in history, Liz Truss, announced her resignation from the position on Thursday. She stated in a statement she gave from outside Downing Street that she had already spoken to the King about her resignation and that she would continue in her role as prime minister until a replacement was chosen.
