PRIME MINISTER Narendra Modi will visit Kedarnath and Badrinath today to offer prayers at the two shrines and lay the groundwork for connectivity projects worth over Rs 3,400 crore, including the Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib ropeway projects.
Around 8.30 a.m., the Prime Minister will arrive at Kedarnath Temple and pray. He will lay the foundation stone for the Kedarnath ropeway project around 9 a.m. He will also pay a visit to Adi Guru Shankaracharya’s samadhi. He will look over various development projects, including Mandakini Asthapath and Saraswati Asthapath. He will also interact with the workers on the construction site.
He will then proceed to the Badrinath temple, where he will perform darshan and pooja at approximately 11.30 a.m. He will then review the progress of the riverfront development work before laying the foundation stone for the road and ropeway projects in Mana village at 12.30 p.m.
Following that, he will assess the development work on the arrival plaza and lakes.
The 9.7-kilometer ropeway in Kedarnath will connect Gaurikund and Kedarnath, cutting travel time between the two places from 6-7 hours to about 30 minutes. Govindghat and Hemkund Sahib will be linked by the Hemkund ropeway.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister, visited the two shrines and reviewed preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.
