Singer Guru Randhawa, Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina and Sussanne Khan were arrested during a raid at Mumbai club –Dragonfly.
According to the reports along with these three celebrities, there were around 34 people who were arrested by the Mumbai Police. They were arrested because of violating the COVID-19 norms at the club which is located near the airport. But after the arrest, they were released on bail immediately.
The Sahar police raided the DragonFly at around 2:30 am where it was found that the club was clearly violating and breaking the many COVID-19 norms. The club was also kept open even there was a night curfew across Maharashtra which was imposed by the State Government to contain the coronavirus.
According to the senior officer of the Sahar Police Station, the people along with the three celebrities were booked under section 188 which is Disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant, then 269 that is whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life and 34 which is Acts done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention of IPC and provisions of NMDA.
Because of the coming New Year celebrations, the Maharastra Government had imposed a night curfew in the entire state from 22nd December to 5th January due to the rising cases of COVID-19.
