The pilot project of ‘Pey Jal Survekshan’ was launched by the Central Government in ten cities which includes Bhubaneswar under Jal Jeevan Mission.
As per the official report the project was launched in the presence of urban Durga Shanker Mishra Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The project ‘Pey Jal Survekshan’ will be conducted in cities to determine the impartial administration of water, reuse of wastewater, and mapping of water bodies concerning quantity and quality of water through a challenging process.
The project has launched a pilot on Survekshan in 10 cities namely Agra, Badlapur, Bhubaneswar, Churu, Kochi, Madurai, Patiala, Rohtak, Surat, and Tumkur and as per the learning of the pilot then it will be decided that whether it will be extended to all the AMRUT cities.
The report further stated the data on drinking water; wastewater management, non-revenue water, and the condition of 3 water bodies in the city will be collected through face-to-face interviews with citizens. According to the approved questionnaire of Municipal officials, on-call interviews, water sample collection, and laboratory testing, and field survey for non-revenue water.
On the technology-based platform, the mission will be monitored on which beneficiary response will be monitored along with progress and output outcome.
