The mass vaccination for the Coronavirus wills soon start across the country but people need to be beware of the fraud online registration and fake online portal for the vaccine process.
The Union Health Ministry asked people not to download or register on several fraudulent applications named ‘CoWIN’ which are available on application stores. Apparently, some applications named ‘CoWIN’ is been created by illegal components to look alike to the upcoming official platform of the government are on app-stores.
The Ministry advised people not to download or share personal information on these fake online portals. The MoHFW official platform will be adequately publicized on its launch.
Prashant Sahu, the Senior cyber expert from Odisha, also advised people and highlighted one such fake CoWIN app’ which has been downloaded more than 10k times.
The CoWIN application will be used to control and ascend the huge vaccination drive and is the short form of COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network’s application. The application will help to support the health authority to monitor the COVID vaccine in time along with the government to coordinate the massive immunization process.
As of now, only the beneficiaries would able to register themselves after uploading identification documents like an Aadhaar card, driving license, PAN, and bank passbook for the vaccination process.
