Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been charged with violating the IPC sections 354, 354D, and 345A, which deal with stalking and sexual harassment.Within the deadline of June 15 set forth by the government and accepted by the wrestlers protesting for the second time this year since April, Delhi Police on Thursday filed a 1,500-page chargesheet against BJP MP and departing Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Before the chargesheet was filed, there was tight security surrounding Brij Bhushan’s apartment in Delhi. The chargesheet has been filed against the BJP MP for offences of sexual harassment and stalking under sections 354, 354D, and 345A of the IPC. In relation to the claims, more than 180 people were questioned.
In order to conduct an investigation, Delhi Police recently brought a female complainant to the Wrestling Federation of India’s office. We requested two prominent female wrestlers who accused Brij Bhushan of sexual assault to submit audio, video, and photographic evidence. Nobody from Uttar Pradesh testified to the Delhi Police in Brij Bhushan’s case. Cops also proceeded to the Gonda home of Brij Bhushan Singh to record testimony from his friends, family, and house staff. The allegations of the minor’s father, who made a new statement and then withdrew the sexual assault charges, were the basis for the 550-page cancellation report that the Delhi Police submitted in the POCSO case against Brij Bhushan. Police have asked for the cancellation since they couldn’t find any evidence, even after consulting the minor’s father’s statement. On July 4, a hearing regarding the dismissal of the POSCO case will take place.
