Clash in Chhattisgarh: Around 30 Naxalites Killed in Encounter with Security Forces

BHUBANESWAR: In a major anti-Naxal operation on Friday, security forces reportedly killed around 30 Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, according to media reports citing a senior police official. The intense gunfight broke out around 1 p.m. in the dense forests of Abhujmaad, located on the Narayanpur-Dantewada inter-district border.

The operation, carried out by a joint team of security personnel, led to intense exchanges of fire between the forces and Naxalite militants. Following the confrontation, the bodies of seven Naxalites were recovered from the site, alongside a significant cache of weapons that included an AK-47 and a self-loading rifle (SLR).

Authorities have indicated that the search operation in the area is still ongoing. Security forces are actively combing the region to locate any additional threats or recover any further evidence related to the encounter. This operation underscores the continued efforts by security forces to combat Naxalite insurgency in the region, which has long been a hotspot for such militant activity.
