The world-famous Mahima Gadi (seat) of the Mahima sect is located in Joranda in the Dhenkanal district, and the State Government has undertaken an initiative to rehabilitate and beautify it. After 5T Secretary VK Pandian visited the area on May 29, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik sanctioned Rs 112 crore for this use.
When discussing the total transformation of the Peetha, Pandian asked the Saints and followers to submit the project report within 15 days. On the basis of a report given by the Collector, the CM allegedly authorised the project proposal for Rs 112 crore. It places a strong emphasis on the Peetha’s general growth as well as different amenities for the devotees.
In this, reconstruction of Samadhi temple, prayer house, walls, pond restoration, bus stand, Kaupin Dhari Mahima Samaj Peeth reconstruction, primary health center, etc.
Inside the Peeth, the entire area with internal roads will be illuminated. A road will be constructed from the Jagannath temple to the school grounds.
For beautification, 200 palm trees and as many banyan trees will be planted along with the restoration of the big pond in the east. The promenade will be constructed with proper illumination.
As many as 200 toilets will be constructed for saints and devotees.
The project will have various facilities for Saints, devotees, and guests. All steps will be taken to make it a major pilgrimage and tourist center of the district along with beautification.
