During the event, one devotee passed away from a heart attack, while another elderly devotee perished from asphyxia in the dense throng. Majhi sent his sincere condolences to the bereaved families and expressed his profound sorrow over the deaths. He prayed for the departed souls to find peace.
Other devotees who felt ill during the chariot pulling were admitted by the administration right after, and they are receiving the finest medical care possible. The Chief Minister wished the sick devotees a quick recovery and instructed the government to make sure they received the right care and support.
