Odisha’s chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, declared on Sunday that the pension for construction workers would be raised. The pension of employees who are registered with the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board has been increased, according to a formal release from the Chief Minister’s office (CMO).
Rather than the current pension of Rs 500 per month, all construction workers over 60 who are registered with the board would now earn a pension of Rs 1,000 per month. Similarly, instead of receiving Rs 700 per month, laborers 80 years of age and older will now earn a pension of Rs 1,000.
Beginning in February 2024, their monthly pension will be increased.
