After immense delays, Gangubai Kathiawadi finally has a release date. The much anticipated movie directed by the great Sanjay Leela Bhansali will hit the theatres on February 25th. The movie was initially scheduled to release on July last year. However, due to COVID the movie was shifted to Jnauary 6th which was further postponed to Feb 11 due to the request from the makers of RRR. However the third wave of COVID stuck and all Bollywood release went to a halt.
Since the third wave of COVID 19 has finally reached its peak, it is expected that the cases will go down within 7 to 8 days and many cinema halls will repon from the second week of February. Therefore the makers of Ganubai Kathaiwada has decided to release its film on Feb 25th.
The movie features Alia Bhatt as Gangubai, one of the most powerful, loved, and respected madams from Kamathipura, Mumbai’s red-light area, during the 1960s. The film is all set to have its much-awaited world premiere at the prestigious 72nd Berlin International Film Festival.
