The daily numbers of Covid-19 infection cases are soaring for the last couple of days in Odisha but according to the health department of the state, the situation is still under control in the state.
According to the official report, Public Health Director Dr Niranjan Mishra stated that even though the daily Covid-19 infection cases are rising around 10,000 for the last several days in Odisha but the situation is still under control in the state.
He further stated that the State’s situation is much better than the national average as it continues to witness fewer daily positive cases than the earlier prediction. The state is witnessing less positive cases against the earlier prediction. The state had earlier predicted around 1.5 lakh active cases by this time, but it is below 1 lakh and the number of daily positive cases is also under control.
He also stated that the government’s measures are doing well and the authorities have to more cautious to reduce the rate of positivity. He also advised that there is a simple method to break the chain of infection which is to follow appropriate Covid behaviour especially wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
He also commented on the testing capacity and stated that the Odisha Government has already announced to set up more RT-PCR laboratories and more testing will be carried out in the coming days. Even the state government is also in the process to increase the ICU beds and oxygen beds in hospitals.
Talking about the third possible wave which is only a prediction, he stated that this can only be checked with enough forethought and taking proper stratagems.
