CSM Tech, an IT solutions company hailing from Odisha, has forged a collaborative partnership with the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) with an ambitious endeavor – to provide support to Raftar, an automotive team led by IIT-M students. This collaboration was solidified through a memorandum of understanding, and its overarching goal is to conceive the world’s fastest self-driven electric racing car by the year 2025.
What originated as a modest student club in 2012 has since blossomed into Raftar, a dynamic team composed of approximately 40 students from diverse academic backgrounds within IIT Madras. United by a fervent enthusiasm for automotive engineering and the realm of motorsports, the team annually embraces the challenge of fabricating a swift Formula Student race car.
Anchored in real-world applications, the Raftar platform proves to be an exceptional testing ground for pioneering mobility technologies, particularly within the stringent and demanding automotive contexts. The team’s prototype testbeds incorporate cutting-edge technologies that boast endorsement through multiple championships in both domestic and international automotive competitions.
Remarkably, Raftar has clinched victory at the prestigious Formula Bharat on three occasions, a remarkable feat within the educational institution category of motorsports in India. This achievement stands as a testament to their prowess. Beyond national boundaries, Raftar has also garnered acclaim on international stages like Formula Germany, solidifying its stature as a formidable presence within both conventional combustion and electric vehicle categories at the university level.
Hailing from Odisha, CSM Tech extends its influence across the globe, with a robust business footprint spanning regions like Africa, Dubai, the United States, and Canada. This strategic collaboration between CSM Tech and IIT-M showcases the synergy between academia and industry, fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and the pursuit of groundbreaking feats in the burgeoning domain of autonomous electric racing.
