BHUBANESWAR: In a bid to curb noise pollution during the festive season, the Cuttack district administration has imposed a strict ban on the use of DJs, LED lights, and firecrackers until November 26. This move aims to ensure a safer and more peaceful celebration across the district.
Under the new orders issued by Cuttack District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, high-decibel sound systems exceeding 65 decibels are prohibited, and bursting firecrackers that produce excessive noise has been banned. These restrictions will apply to various festivities, including pandals, immersion processions, and the Bali Yatra Utsav.
The administration has taken this step to promote a more harmonious and peaceful environment during the festive period. Puja pandals and organizing authorities have been instructed to strictly adhere to these restrictions. Police stations in Cuttack have also been directed to enforce the guidelines.
“Any person who contravenes this order shall be liable to be punished in accordance with the provisions of law,” the official order stated, emphasizing the importance of compliance for the safety and well-being of the community.
This measure reflects the administration’s commitment to maintaining a balance between festivity and public health by ensuring noise levels remain within acceptable limits.
