Cuttack Court Acquits ‘D-Brothers’ & Aide In Wholesale Pulse Trader Murder Case

Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta, also known as the “D-Brothers,” were cleared on Monday for the murder of Muhammad Farooq, a pulse wholesaler in Cuttack Malgodam, due to a lack of evidence. The two brothers and suspected sniper Arif Khan had all been detained by police in relation to the murder of Muhammad Farooq. Another accused is rumored to be missing, while four other accused in the case have already been cleared by the court for a lack of evidence.

According to sources, on November 12, 2014, two bike-borne criminals opened fire on Muhammad Farooq while he was seated at his warehouse in Cuttack Malgodam. He was carried in severe condition to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, where physicians there ruled him “brought dead.” Contract killers were allegedly recruited to assassinate Farooq as part of a conspiracy by the “D-Brothers” to extract Rs 30 lakh. The Cuttack Commissionerate Police eventually detained seven persons in connection with this crime.

At the ‘D-Brothers’ house at CDA in Cuttack in December 2020, police conducted numerous raids and seized 19 high-tech country-made handguns, 24 magazines, 1,095 various types of ammunition, 16 mobile phones, and four motorbikes.
