According to Union Culture and Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy here on Monday, India is dedicated to fostering cultural discussion, supporting shared learning, and fostering collaboration among G20 members while also giving appropriate regard to the distinctive cultural settings and legacy of each nation. Reddy was speaking during the G-20’s second Culture Working Group meeting’s opening session. Nityanand Rai, the minister of state for home affairs, and Reddy both attended the meeting’s opening session.
Speaking to the delegates, Reddy asserted that culture plays a significant part in the formulation of global policies since it promotes the development of more equitable and long-lasting solutions to pressing problems. In this regard, he noted that the G20 Culture working group is crucial to developing cooperation and advancing communication among members.
“By pursuing a shared vision, we hope to establish a more just and culturally sensitive global policy environment that recognizes the enormous significance of cultural variety. It is impossible to overestimate the importance of culture in encouraging international discussion, social cohesiveness, and mutual understanding. As it promotes the notion that despite our differences in culture, religion, language, or ethnicity, we are all a part of one global family, the ancient Indian philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (Whole world is a family) connects beautifully with the idea of unity in diversity, the Minister noted.
Reddy stressed the value of cultural interaction and explained how it may assist community growth, local economies, and cultural preservation while also making a positive impact on sustainability. In order to make sure that culture remains a major priority in the G20 agenda, he added, “it is our responsibility to build upon the foundation laid by previous presidencies.”
