Deputy CM Singh Deo Reviews Preparations For ‘Krushi Odisha 2025’

Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, presided over a high-level meeting today at Lok Seva Bhavan to discuss the “Krushi Odisha 2025” preparations. The event is expected to be a spectacular celebration of innovation and agriculture and is due to take place at the Baramunda Biju Patnaik Ground in Bhubaneswar from January 3 to 5. In addition to 250 display booths highlighting innovations in the agriculture industry, the three-day event will include 12 technical seminars with a maximum capacity of 200 attendees each. It is anticipated that 10,000 farmers from all around Odisha will be there.

Additionally, the Water Resources Department will observe the Pani Panchayat Fortnight as part of the event, emphasizing water resource management for farmers. During the meeting, Singh Deo emphasized the importance of registering farmers in the state’s Agristack database. Camps will be organized statewide to facilitate this registration process, with support available through Janseva Kendras. Farmers will receive Rs. 10 per registration. The database aims to create an integrated repository of farmer information to support developmental initiatives and streamline government schemes.

The proposed budget for the Agriculture Department’s fiscal year 2025–2026 was also discussed at the meeting. The distribution of funds for important projects to support the state’s agriculture industry was discussed by officials. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Agriculture Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director of Horticulture Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, and other senior officials.
