Dhenkanal police intensified the checking in and around the city as it witnessed several people openly flouting the lockdown norms which has been imposed in the state to contain the rapid spread of the deadly novel coronavirus.
Several temporary check posts and barricades have been erected at different chowks of the city in-order to check the movement of vehicles.
Police forces has been deployed at different places of the town to ensure that people follow the lockdown norms. Further they urged people not to step out of their houses unless necessary. People found without mask or roaming without any valid reasons are being penalized with fine, press personnel’s and people related to emergency services are exempted from the curbs.
As of 13 May, 2021, Dhenkanal District reported 7985 positive cases out of which 6396 people have recovered, whereas the active cases stands at 1556. The district freshly reported 174 new positive cases and as of now 33 people have succumbed as informed by the District Administration.
