Doda encounter: Six security personnel hurt during operation; third terror incident in three days in Jammu


After a joint checkpost was attacked, six security officers were hurt in a gunfight with terrorists in Doda, Jammu & Kashmir.In the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, militants and security forces exchanged gunfire on Wednesday, injuring five soldiers and one special police officer in yet another terror strike, officials said. According to the officials, terrorists opened fire on the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police joint checkpost in the Chattergalla region on the Bhadarwah-Pathankot road in Doda.At a hospital, the wounded security guards are receiving medical attention. Up until the latest reports from the scene, the gunfight was still going on. To step up the operation, more security guards have been dispatched to the region.

This is the third such event in three days in Jammu, following terrorist attacks in Kathua that left a civilian injured and in Reasi that resulted in nine pilgrims killed and forty-two injured on a bus. According to news agency PTI, police and security personnel in the Kathua district are conducting an operation to find a terrorist who may be hiding in Saida Sukhal hamlet Koota Morhunder the boundaries of the Hiranagar police station.The report stated that on Tuesday evening, when the ultras stormed a village close to the International Border (IB) and injured a civilian, security authorities killed a suspected Pakistani terrorist.

A man and his spouse have been evacuated to a hospital as a family. Omkar Nath, the husband, is said to be in stable condition following an injury to his arm, while his wife is unharmed. Two terrorists who had recently infiltrated the village appeared late on Tuesday evening, sparking the start of the operation in Saida Sukhal.

The villagers became suspicious when the terrorists sought for water from multiple homes, according to a police statement. The terrorists injured one person by firing at random as the villagers sounded an alarm.
