Odisha athletes Dutee Chand and Amiya Kumar Mallick won medals at the Indian Grand Prix-2 at the National Institute of Sports in Patiala.
As per the IANS report, Dutee Chand won Gold in the women’s 100m race by clocking 11.44 seconds in the second leg of the Indian Grand Prix. Whereas athlete Amiya Kumar Mallick won Silver in the men’s 100m race by clocking 10.74 seconds.
On this winning occasion Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated both athletes via Twitter where he quoted – “Congratulate Odisha sprinter @DuteeChand on winning #Gold in the Women’s 100m race and Amiya Kumar Mallick on winning #Silver in the Men’s 100m race in the Indian Grand Prix-2 held at National Institute of Sports, Patiala. Wish you both more success in the future.”

Among the others, Assam’s sprint prodigy Hima Das won the women’s 200m race with the winning time of 23.31 seconds in her first race after a long discharge due to a back injury. Karnataka’s Daneshwari A was second at 11.89 seconds, while Maharashtra’s Diandra Dudley Valladares clocked 11.92 seconds for third place.

Jakarta Asian Games champion Tajinderpal Singh Toor of Punjab won the men’s shot put event with a throw of 19.49m while Sahib Singh from Delhi was second at 17.69m and Amandeep Singh of Punjab was third with a throw of 16.96m.
Kiran Pahal of Haryana was at the second position in 54.88 secs and Subha Venkatesan of Tamil third at 55.29 seconds.
