At AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Friday, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Women and Child Development Pravati Parida met with the fiancée of an Army officer who had allegedly been beaten at the Bharatpur police station. The woman is receiving treated at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer met her and thoroughly heard about her ordeal at the police station. She asked about the probe and spoke with the DCP about the situation.
“The case has been now transferred to the Crime Branch. The DGP has suspended five police officials. Under the instructions of the Chief Minister today I have come to meet the victim. The government has declared zero tolerance to crimes against women. Therefore whosoever is the culprit the report will be expedited and will be available within a specified time frame. Whosoever is the culprit will be certainly punished. The victim has shared everything that has happened with her and action will be surely taken” said Parida.
The Deputy CM added that the victim is doing okay but anybody would have endured such an ordeal will definitely get mentally destroyed.
