ED Charge Sheets A Naxalite For Collecting Levy

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced on Monday that they had filed a prosecution complaint (charge sheet) against Maoist Ramayan Rai before a special PMLA court in Patna. Rai was charged with engaging in wrongdoing, including the collection of levy, as well as building up the ultras’ organization by enticing young people from uneducated and weaker groups. The subject has been brought before the court.

On the basis of the three FIRs filed at the Gopalganj police station in Bihar, where charge sheets were also submitted against Rai in two cases, the ED launched an inquiry in accordance with the PMLA’s provisions. Assault, attempted assassination, and levies collecting are only a few of the criminal crimes for which Rai was charged under the Indian Penal Code, the Weapons Act, and the Explosives Substance Act.

The ED discovered that the accused spent the earnings of his criminal activity in order to purchase numerous immovable properties in his wife’s name and present them as clean. According to the report, they recently attached real estate worth Rs 21 lakh in his wife Kalawati Devi’s name in accordance with the Act’s anti-money laundering provisions.
