Arvind Kejriwal had responded to the ED’s third summons by saying that while he was willing to cooperate, the agency’s goal was to have him arrested.
People familiar with the development said on Saturday that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had sent out new summonses to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, requesting that he come before it on January 18 to be questioned in connection with the money laundering investigation into anomalies in the Delhi excise policy 2021–2022. Kejriwal had disregarded the ED’s third summons last week.The chief minister’s persistent disobedience of the summons was impeding the ED’s investigation into the matter, as HT had reported on January 4.In its sixth charge sheet issued in the case on December 2, 2023.
