Education Minister Ramesh Pokharial Nishank has been honoured by the University of Cambridge. Nishank has been honoured by the University of Cambridge for innovative reforms in education. He was honoured with a video conference. The award was presented at an online event held at the minister’s residence in New Delhi.
After a long time, the Indian education system has undergone extensive reforms. Smith described Dr. Nishank’s role in this as “drastic”. India has taught mathematics and trigonometry to the whole world. Mr. Govindan, who is in charge of Asia in Cambridge, praised the detailed consultation process conducted by the Ministry of Education with stakeholders during the formulation of the education policy. The new education policy is the result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s developmental vision. Nishank said on the occasion that all stakeholders from the grassroots level felt that a broader category had been added to the new education policy. Commenting on India’s educational tradition, Dr. Smith said that India’s established universities have been a hotbed of history since time immemorial. Mr. Govindan, who is in charge of Cambridge Asia, praised the detailed consultation process undertaken by the Ministry of Education with stakeholders during the formulation of the education policy.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nishank said that the new education policy was the result of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s developmental vision. “All stakeholders at the grassroots level are participating and feel that all categories are being integrated into the new education policy.” He said the changed education policy would increase human values in society as well as ensure physical and mental development. Its main goal is the full development of students through quality education. He asserted that the new education policy would play an important role in India. Dr Nishank informed that Cambridge University is working on a number of schemes to improve education in India. Dr. Nishank thanks the University of Cambridge for its cooperation in the field of education in India.
