A rare photograph of Elon Musk dining with one of his sons recently went viral on social media, sparking a flurry of admiration and curiosity online. The photo, shared by a luxury sales consultant on X (formerly Twitter), was captioned, “It’s really nice to see Elon Musk with his oldest son.” However, the tech billionaire himself stepped in to correct the statement.
Responding to the post, Musk clarified that the child in the photo was his son Kai, not his eldest surviving son Griffin, as the user had claimed. His brief but clear correction read: “That’s Kai, not Griffin.”
The photo sparked a warm reaction from users on social media, with many praising Musk’s parenting. One commenter wrote, “Good looking like his dad,” while another said, “He’s spending time with his boys,” and a third added, “This is so lovely.”
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X, has often made headlines for his work—but in recent years, public interest in his large family has also grown. Musk is currently the father of 14 children, including twins, triplets, and several children from different relationships.
His family journey began with Canadian author Justine Wilson, with whom he had six children. Their firstborn, Nevada Alexander, tragically passed away in infancy. The couple later welcomed twins Vivian and Griffin, followed by triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.
After parting ways with Wilson, Musk had three children with singer Grimes—X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus. He also fathered twins, Strider and Azure, with Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink. In 2024, they welcomed a third child together, Arcadia.
The year 2025 brought even more revelations. Influencer Ashley St. Clair publicly claimed she gave birth to Musk’s child, Romulus, and shortly after, Zilis confirmed the birth of their fourth child, Seldon Lycurgus.
With growing public fascination around Musk’s personal life, even casual photos—like a father-son dinner—can capture global attention and prompt widespread discussion about one of the most high-profile families in the tech world.
