The wait for the new captain for RCB is over. After Virat Kohli stepped down from RCB’s captaincy last year, there were loads of speculation of who will be the next captain for RCB. However, the speculations are now over. RCB’s new purchase Faf Du Plessis will now be the new captain for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Faf Du Plessis will take over the might Virat Kohli who has been the alpha male of RCB for the past 10 years. Virat has been captaining the very popular IPL franchise for a decade and has taken them to the finals as well. However, he couldn’t win a single IPL trophy for the franchise so far.
Faf Du Plessis also has been a star IPL player for Chennai Super Kings for a decade. Faf was the second-highest run-getter in IPL 2021, just 2 runs short of his ex IPL opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad. It was an emotional goodbye for Faf to CSK but he will now cherish the opportunities as a captain and leader of a very popular IPL side.
