The Odisha government said on Friday that it offers financial relief to 50,952 kids who either lost both of their parents due to COVID-19 or one of them. According to Women and Child Development Minister Basanti Hembram, 108 of the total number have been recognized as having lost both of their parents and would get 2,500 apiece.
“Under the government’s “Ashirbad” program, these kids receive financial support. The money is placed into the family members’ or recipients’ bank accounts, “explained she. Children who lost a parent who was also the family’s primary provider are given $1,500 a month. Also, orphans living in a daycare facility receive a monthly stipend of $1000, according to Hembram.
