Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir has been found guilty of hoarding Fabiflu and giving it to COVID-19 patients, the drug controller body of Delhi told Delhi high court.
According to the official report, Advocate Nandita Rao, who appeared for the drug controller, said Gautam Gambhir Foundation had committed an offence under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act for stocking medicines in an unauthorised manner.
Advocate Nandita Rao informed the bench that it was discovered during the inquiry that Gautam Gambhir Foundation had purchased over 2000 strips despite holding no valid licence.
Even the BJP MP apart, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Praveen Kumar was also found guilty under the same act. The court stated that they want them to take action against these violations in terms of their report so that an example is set and later also directed the drug controller to file a status report before the next hearing on July 29.
Even earlier the high court pulled up the drug controller for giving Gambhir and Kumar a clean chit based on Delhi Police’s report and asked them to carry out an independent probe.
