Harsh Vardhan Shingria India’s top diplomat flagged off New Delhi’s first consignment of wheat to Afghanistan on Tuesday. There was a convoy of 50 trucks that carried 2,500 metric tonnes of wheat. The wheat was sent from (FCI) Food Corporation of India. This was transported from Attari to Jalahabad on integrated checkpost by Afghan transporters.
A proposal was sent from India to Islamabad on October 7. This was for seeking permission to send 50,000 tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan via the soil of Pakistan. This received a positive response of November 24.
