Google has announced a major push into education in India, offering eligible college students one year of Google AI Plus at no cost while introducing new AI-powered learning features.
The student package includes access to Gemini Omni, increased Gemini usage limits and 400 GB of cloud storage, giving students access to Google’s more advanced AI tools for studying, research and academic work.
Google is simultaneously expanding AI-based learning features designed specifically for students. The company says its new tools can help students with study preparation, customised quizzes, research and understanding difficult concepts, rather than simply functioning as a conventional chatbot.
Google’s own announcement confirms that students outside the United States, including eligible students in India, are being offered one year of Google AI Plus free of charge. The package includes Gemini Omni, higher usage limits and 400 GB of storage.
This comes as AI becomes increasingly embedded in education, with technology companies competing to make their AI assistants part of students’ everyday study routines.
