The Scheme for Re-Deployment of Superannuated Teachers of AFMS (SRESTA), created by the Armed Forces Medical Services and NITI Aayog, has been decided upon by the State Government. Shalini Pandit informed the Union Health Secretary of the State Government’s decision on the SRESTA plan in a letter to the Commissioner/Secretary of the Health Department for Odisha.
In addition to meeting NMC (National Medical Commission) regulations, the letter noted that the redeployment will take place in all Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals to enhance the standard of medical education and healthcare services. The Nodal Officer for the implementation of the program has been designated as the Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Odisha.
