Success is often associated with careful planning, but for CA Bidhu Bhushan Nayak, Director Finance at Sparsh Hospitals, it is equally about self-discovery and trusting the journey life presents. His story is not merely one of professional achievement it is a lesson in recognizing one’s capabilities, embracing opportunities, and staying rooted in core values.
Born in Cuttack and an alumnus of Ravenshaw University, Nayak grew up with aspirations that looked very different from where he stands today. While his father dreamed of seeing him become a doctor, the young Nayak was fascinated by the idea of becoming a fighter pilot. Yet, life had other plans.

A friend’s suggestion to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce introduced him to the world of finance. The prospect of professional independence and growth intrigued him, and what began as a simple recommendation gradually transformed into a lifelong calling. He went on to pursue Chartered Accountancy, one of India’s most demanding professional qualifications. Looking back, he believes his journey reflects the importance of self-realization.
“Many people spend their lives chasing what others expect of them. The real challenge is understanding where your strengths truly lie,” he says. For Nayak, success comes when individuals recognize their potential and commit themselves wholeheartedly to nurturing it.
Today, his expertise in finance serves a larger purpose through healthcare. As Director Finance at Sparsh Hospitals, he views financial leadership not merely as managing numbers but as creating systems that enable quality patient care. He strongly advocates for affordable healthcare and believes that quality treatment and genuine hospitality should never be out of reach for ordinary families.
According to Nayak, healthcare institutions must strike a balance between financial sustainability and social responsibility. A hospital’s success, he believes, is measured not only by growth but also by the trust it earns from the community it serves.
Beyond healthcare, he is passionate about entrepreneurship and leadership. His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple yet profound: never lose sight of the values on which your journey began. While growth, expansion, and profitability are important, they should never come at the cost of integrity, ethics, and purpose.
“The foundation of any successful venture lies in its values. When organizations forget why they started, they risk losing the very trust that helped them grow,” he reflects.
For CA Bidhu Bhushan Nayak, success is not defined by titles or positions. It is about understanding one’s capabilities, remaining grounded in principles, and using professional expertise to create meaningful impact. From a young boy dreaming of the skies to a finance leader helping shape accessible healthcare, his journey stands as a testament to the power of purpose, perseverance, and staying true to oneself.
