Heavy Police Deployment Planned In Cuttack and Bhubaneswar For Durga Puja Celebrations

The Commissionerate Police has planned massive deployment of forces in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, as part of an extensive security strategy, Police Commissioner S Debadatta Singh announced in a press briefing on Tuesday. Commissioner Singh outlined the special strategy focusing on key areas such as traffic regulation, crime prevention, fire and structural safety at puja pandals, and raising public awareness about cybercrime.

“Our core focus will be on streamlining vehicular and non-vehicular traffic, and ensuring the prevention of petty crimes like chain snatching,” Singh stated. He emphasized that traffic control and public safety during the festive season were top priorities.

The police will also pay close attention to fire safety protocols at puja pandals around the city. Puja coordinators have been told to use fire extinguishers and follow the right safety procedures. In order to guarantee seamless and secure celebrations, Singh also asked the broader public to abide by safety regulations. The Police Commissioner verified that there will be 38 police platoons stationed in Bhubaneswar and 64 platoons in Cuttack. More personnel from the Central Armed Police Force will support this.

at addition, he said, about 200 Commissionerate Police officers would be stationed at different places to supervise the execution of safety protocols on the ground. Singh gave his word that the goal of this all-encompassing deployment and approach is to provide a safe atmosphere for the public as well as the puja organizers, so that the festivities may continue uninterrupted.
