Odisha Launches ‘Gramodaya’ Programme For Development Of Naxal-Affected Areas

“Gramodaya,” a comprehensive program designed to improve areas impacted by left-wing Naxalism, was introduced by the Odisha government. The initiative’s main goal is to guarantee that all 583 villages in the ten impacted districts have 100% coverage of government programs. A state-level monitoring committee led by the Chief Secretary will keep an eye on the program’s advancement. “Gramodaya” consists of two primary parts: giving communities full benefits and giving recipients individual advantages.

It has been initiated to provide 583 villages in ten districts—Bargarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, and Rayagada—affected by left-wing naxalism with 100% benefits of all government projects. For the purpose of implementing 31 village-focused and 44 beneficiary-focused programs, all government agencies will work together. The Drinking Water Department and Panchayati Raj will function as the nodal departments. Effective implementation will be ensured by a layered monitoring system. To guarantee the program’s effectiveness, village meetings, grievance hearings, and grassroots awareness efforts are all included.
