HURL’s Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty Named First Managing Director of AVFCCL

Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) Managing Director Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty has assumed charge as the first Managing Director of Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) with effect from August 6. The HURL team congratulated Dr Mohanty on this additional responsibility.

AVFCCL is a newly established joint venture between the Government of Assam, Oil India Limited, National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), HURL, and Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL). The venture aims to strengthen fertilizer production in the Northeast and contribute to India’s agricultural self-reliance.

With over 26 years of experience in agri-input marketing, Dr Mohanty has served in leadership roles at Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (RCF), HIL (India) Limited, and BVFCL before joining HURL. Under his stewardship, organisations have earned accolades for excellence in CSR, HR practices, and innovation.

An alumnus of Berhampur University, Odisha, Dr Mohanty holds a Master’s degree in Business Management and has completed executive programmes at IIM Lucknow and IIM Kolkata. He is a recipient of honours such as “Marketing Man of the Year” (1995) and RCF’s “Best Employee” Award (2012).
