Interview Times had a conversation with Co-Founder of BHU botanicals, Mahima Gupta.

1. Let our reader know your journey of becoming an entrepreneur and Why did you opt for organic brand instead of a fancy cosmetic brand?
– Well! When I started my skincare journey, I wanted to use something that not only has natural origin but also works. In market, such options were lesser, or very expensive to be used in the long run.
I searched ingredients and to my surprise read about natural ingredients which had a scientific proof of efficacy. Soon i started searching for similar ingredients and what best than actually starting your own line. When you know they are working for you, they would work for others too, right!
2. Why did you choose bhu botanicals, is there any inspiration behind the name?
– At bhu botanicals we combine nature with science and hence the name
bhu means ‘Earth’
At bhu, we craft natural, safe, effective and honest skincare products with highly researched actives, plant extracts and naturally occurring earth minerals.
As pious as mother earth’s love!
3. With there being hundreds of skincare products, don’t you think it is a bold move to step into an already cluttered market?
– Markets will always be cluttered for whatever you may want to do. But when you know your product, you know its efficacy, you know it has worked for you and you source the best and are honest to what you create, you know you’ll make it, despite the crowd!
4. Why should people trust your products?
Ans-4 At BHU, we believe ‘Transparency is the key to sustainability’. All our products are about 95% natural, made out of natural, hand-picked ingredients sourced from the best and remotest parts of world. We are very honest to our customers and we also bring you the Goodness of Mother Earth.
5. How would you call your brand reliable and best?
-We have always been very transparent to our consumers as far as our ingredients, consultations and our content is concerned. We produce a lot of wellness content- more than half of the talked about products we don’t even have in our line. If not for education and purely honest opinion, what could they be for?
Apart from this, we have had in numerous testimonies and reviews from clients which speak for our product’s’ functionality!
So, trust is developed on its own I guess!
6. What were your thoughts when you initially came up with the idea?
– As I mentioned in my previous answer, i just wanted to tell the world that natural products are not just a fancy fad, but they are backed by scientific evidence and actually work, without damaging your skin.
7. How far do you see yourself in the industry? Tell us about your goals.
-So far so good!
We have a crazy repeat consumers turnaround rate. You can sell something to someone once but the second purchase only happens when your product works! I guess our strong product line and honest brand communication will take us places.
Also, we are in no rush, we are Here to stay:)
8.Can customers expect anything revolutionary from bhu botanicals in the coming years?
-Revolutionary is a subjective word.
To me launching something that does 5 things together but does nothing to full satisfaction is not revolutionary. An exciting, fancy and expensive packaging with a bad product can also not be revolutionary. A good product that does what it claims is. And i think we are doing that with our products already
9. In this fast-pacing world, everyone wants to see results almost instantly, while your products are free of chemicals, do they pronto meet the demand of customers? How would you like to explain the process to your fam?
– Anything that’s clinical is definitely faster. An anti-aging cream cannot match the pace of a clinical filler result because that’s almost instant. But there is a section of people who do not find clinical processes affordable, safe, reliable and viable. But they want results. We serve exactly this section.
