Please share your journey as a writer. How and when did you start writing? What’s the inspiration behind it?

My journey as a writer began during my school days, when I was a timid girl, often marked absent by teachers due to my shyness. Writing became my refuge—a means to freely express myself. During those formative years, I delved into the world of writing, penning short stories, crafting poems, and pouring my thoughts into personal journals. It was through these written expressions that I discovered the true depth of my emotions and began to unlock the power of storytelling.

Although my passion for writing was evident, it wasn’t until 2015, after eight years of marriage, that I mustered the courage to embark on a more public writing journey. With the advent of various online platforms, I took the leap and ventured into the realm of blogging. This marked a significant turning point in my life, as I officially established myself as a freelance writer.

Through blogging, I found a platform where my words could reach a wider audience and connect with individuals who resonated with my experiences and perspectives. It was a transformative period that allowed me to refine my writing skills, explore new genres, and develop a distinct voice.

While my writing journey has evolved over the years, those early moments of self-discovery during my school days laid the foundation for the writer I am today. Writing continues to be my sanctuary, enabling me to express my thoughts, share my stories, and connect with others on a profound level.

Over time, my love for writing deepened, and I evolved into an author. The first lockdown in 2020 provided an opportunity for introspection, leading me to write e-books. I feel fortunate to have turned this passion into a successful career.

My children—my son and daughter—serve as my inspiration. It was after becoming a mother that I reignited my writing journey. I started as a mommy blogger on Momspresso, and since then, I have never looked back.

How does it feel to be a writer? What are things that have changed since you became a writer?

As a writer, the journey has been incredibly fulfilling and transformative. It’s a profound and indescribable feeling to have the ability to shape words into stories, poems, and articles that can touch people’s lives. Writing has given me a voice, allowing me to express my thoughts, emotions, and perspectives in ways that transcend the limitations of verbal communication.

Since I became a writer, many things have changed in my life. Firstly, there has been tremendous personal growth and self-discovery. Through writing, I have delved deep into my own thoughts and experiences, gaining a better understanding of myself and the world around me. It has provided an outlet for introspection, enabling me to navigate through life’s ups and downs with greater clarity and resilience.

Professionally, becoming a writer has opened up a world of opportunities. Starting as a timid girl who struggled with shyness, I now have the privilege of connecting with a vast audience through my words. The reach of my writing has expanded significantly since I began blogging, allowing me to share my perspectives and stories with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. The feedback and support I receive from readers has been both humbling and inspiring, motivating me to continue honing my craft.

Becoming a writer has also brought a sense of purpose to my life. It has allowed me to contribute to discussions, raise awareness about important topics, and inspire others through my words. I am constantly challenged to explore new genres, experiment with different writing styles, and push the boundaries of my creativity. Each new project presents an opportunity for growth and learning, keeping my journey as a writer exciting and dynamic.

Overall, being a writer has been an extraordinary journey of self-expression, growth, and connection. It has changed me in profound ways, offering a sense of fulfillment and purpose that I couldn’t have imagined before. I feel privileged to have discovered the power of words and to continue sharing my voice with the world.

What suggestions do you have for budding writers, and what was the most challenging task in your writing career?

For budding writers, I would like to offer a few suggestions based on my own experiences and insights. First, embrace your unique voice and perspective. Don’t be afraid to express yourself authentically and share your thoughts with the world. Your voice is what sets you apart and makes your writing special.Secondly, read voraciously and diversely. Immerse yourself in different genres, styles, and authors. Reading not only expands your knowledge but also exposes you to different writing techniques and storytelling approaches. It has the potential to have a significant impact on your own writing.

Additionally, practice writing regularly. Writing is a skill that requires consistent honing. Set aside dedicated time to write, even if it’s just for a few minutes each day. This regular practice will help you improve your craft, develop your writing style, and enhance your storytelling abilities.Seek feedback and be open to constructive criticism. Join writing communities or workshops where you can share your work and receive valuable insights from fellow writers. Constructive feedback can provide new perspectives, help you identify areas for improvement, and refine your writing skills.

As for the most challenging task in my writing career, it would be the process of overcoming self-doubt and creative blocks. There are times when doubts and insecurities creep in, making it difficult to put words on the page. Working through these obstacles requires persistence, resilience, and a belief in one’s own abilities.

In addition, striking a balance between creativity and discipline can also be challenging. Writing is not just about inspiration; it also requires discipline and dedication to sit down and write, even when the muse seems elusive. Finding that equilibrium between allowing creativity to flow and maintaining a consistent writing routine can be a delicate task.

However, it is through these challenges that we grow as writers. Embracing the process, learning from setbacks, and persevering through obstacles ultimately leads to personal and creative growth.Remember, writing is a journey, and each writer’s path is unique. Stay committed, nurture your love for the written word, and embrace the challenges as opportunities for growth. Your words have the power to make a difference, so keep writing and sharing your stories with the world.

You have participated in several anthologies; how do you manage time for writing, and are you writing something as of now?

Yes, participating in various anthologies has been an enriching experience for me as a writer. Managing time for writing can be challenging, but it’s all about finding a balance and prioritizing my writing goals.

To ensure effective time management, I create a writing schedule and allocate specific time slots for my writing projects. This helps me stay focused and disciplined, even when juggling multiple commitments. I carve out dedicated periods each day or week, depending on the project’s urgency and my availability, to work on my writing. In terms of ongoing projects, I am currently working on two books. The first book, “The Courage to Be Me: A Teen’s Guide to Overcoming Self-doubt,” is a self-help book for teenagers. Its publication is due in July, which means I am devoting a significant portion of my time and energy to completing and polishing the manuscript. Writing a self-help book requires thorough research, thoughtful content development, and ensuring that the advice and guidance resonate with the intended audience.

Simultaneously, I am also crafting a book of mini-tales, consisting of 100-word stories. This collection aims to captivate readers with concise yet impactful narratives. While its release is scheduled for December 2023, I am constantly writing and refining these microstories, ensuring each tale leaves a lasting impression on the readers.Managing multiple projects simultaneously demands efficient time management, focus, and a well-structured approach. By setting clear priorities and adhering to a writing routine, I strive to meet the deadlines for each project while maintaining the quality and creativity of my work.

Writing is an integral part of my life, and despite the challenges, I find immense joy and fulfillment in pursuing these projects. It is my dedication and passion for writing that drive me to manage my time effectively and continue working on new and exciting endeavors.
