India-US Strategic Partnership Will Be A Defining One Of 21st Century Says PM Modi

Following his meeting with visiting US Vice President J.D. Vance on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the strategic alliance between the US and India will be a defining feature of the twenty-first century.

Taking to the social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Pleased to welcome US VP JD Vance and his family in New Delhi. We reviewed the fast-paced progress following my visit to the US and meeting with President Trump. We are committed to mutually beneficial cooperation, including in trade, technology, defence, energy and people-to-people exchanges. India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership will be a defining partnership of the 21st Century for a better future of our people and the world.”

PM Modi and US Vice President J.D. Vance praised the India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement’s advancement earlier in the day, as well as initiatives to further collaboration in a number of areas, such as energy, defense, and critical technology. The US Vice President, Second Lady Usha Vance, and the couple’s three children, Ewan, Vivek, and daughter Mirabel, were invited to the Prime Minister’s home on Lok Kalyan Marg. Prime Minister Modi remembered his productive January trip to Washington, D.C., and his conversations with US President Donald Trump during their exchange.

Prime Minister Modi and Vance strengthened their strategic collaboration by discussing a variety of topics at their previous meeting in February, which was held on the sidelines of the AI Summit in Paris. In addition to discussing a range of regional and international topics of shared concern, the leaders followed up on their last meeting on Monday and assessed the status of their bilateral ties.

PM Modi also conveyed his greetings to President Trump, saying that he is looking forward to his visit to India later this year. This is Vance’s first visit to India, and besides holding discussions with PM Modi, the US Vice President and his delegation will also have other engagements in Jaipur and Agra before departing for Washington on April 24. PM Modi extended best wishes to the Vice President and family for a pleasant stay.
