The second test between India and New Zealand in Mumbai might be a special one for Mumbai born New Zealand Spinner Ajaz Patel who took 10 wickets in an innings (14 in total), but apart from that it was nothing but a one sided dominated match by India. At the early hours of day 4 India took the remaining 5 wickets of New Zealand and won the match by a huge margin of 372 runs and won the series by 1-0.
By winning the series against New Zealand, India claimed the No 1 spot in test cricket yet again after loosing it to the same side few months back in the finals of World Test Championship held in England. India will now go to South Africa for 3 Test Matches and same number of ODI’s, whereas New Zealand will fly back home where they meet Bangaldesh for 2 match test series.
Mayank Agarwal won the match of the match award for his brilliant display of batting in both innings (150 & 62). Moreover R Ashwin won the Man of the series award for his 15 wickets in 2 test matches.
