The UAE-based billionaire, originally from Kerala, has directed his team in India to pay off the woman’s loan in full and has also offered her an additional Rs10 lakh. His support follows widespread media coverage of Sandhya’s situation, which resonated with many who empathized with her struggles.
As reported by Malayalam media, Sandhya and her husband secured a loan from a private institution in 2019 to build their home in North Paravur, Kerala. They borrowed ₹4 lakh from Manappuram Finance, a non-banking financial company based in Kerala.The image of Sandhya and her children stranded on the roadside ignited outrage among the local community. Her story gained traction in the local media and caught the attention of MA Yusuff Ali, chairman of Lulu Group, who quickly intervened to assist the family.According to One India, MA Yusuff Ali directed his team to settle the loan, which led to the return of the keys to Sandhya’s house. Lulu Group’s media coordinator, Swaraj, personally handed the keys back to Sandhya and her family. In addition, they received ₹10 lakh to help them start a fixed deposit.
