India’s cheapest electric car launched by Tata

by Subhechcha Ganguly

The third electric vehicle from Indian automaker Tata Motors was unveiled there with a competitive starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh, making it the most cheap electric car in the country. However, only the first 10,000 buyers will be able to take advantage of these pricing, with 2,000 of those spots reserved for current Nexon EV and Tigor EV users.
The Tigor EV is above Tata’s first electric hatchback, which is offered in four trim levels: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech Lux. Tata Tiago EV hatchback reservations will be accepted starting on October 10; deliveries will start in January.

The closed-off grille, the blue inserts, the new wheel design, the new colours, and the “EV” badging are just a few of the EV-specific visual features that the Tiago EV receives. Other than that, there are no differences between the EV and the Tiago with an ICE engine. The Tiago EV comes with two lithium-ion battery pack options: 19.2kWh and 24kWh. Both of them have an 8-year/1,60,000-kilometer warranty and have an IP67 grade for dust and water protection on the battery and motor. The larger battery gets a claimed MIDC range of 315km, which is 9km greater than the Tigor EV’s ARAI certified range with the larger battery pack. The 19.2kWh battery has a claimed MIDC range of 250km.

Additionally, it has 45 ZConnect features with smartphone and watch compatibility, 45 ZConnect features with re-gen modes, cruise control, and more.
