A formal complaint has been filed against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, influencer Apoorva Makhija, and the organizers of the show India’s Got Latent after controversial remarks were made during an episode. On Monday, a Mumbai Police team visited the show’s studio in Khar following the complaint, which accuses the individuals of using abusive language. The complaint, submitted to the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, demands strict legal action against the accused.
The controversy has sparked strong reactions, including from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who stated that the remarks were presented inappropriately and violated societal norms. Fadnavis emphasized that while freedom of speech is protected, it should not infringe on others’ rights. Former NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma also condemned the remarks, calling them morally unacceptable, while Shiv Sena spokesperson Raju Wagamare warned the producers that such language would not be tolerated in Maharashtra, invoking the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj and promising action if the issue is not addressed.
