Inspiring a New Wave of Global Excellence: Mr. Rohit Gupta

President of Venturesathi Global Inc.

Feature: In the heart of Rourkela, Odisha—far removed from India’s glittering IT corridors in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, or Gurugram—a quiet revolution is reshaping the future of outsourcing. Leading this transformation is Mr. Rohit Gupta, a Chartered Accountant turned visionary entrepreneur, who dared to believe that a tier-3 city could deliver world-class outsourcing services. Today, as President of Venturesathi Global Inc., with offices in both Odisha and Virginia, USA, Mr. Gupta has not only built a thriving global business but also opened doors of opportunity for hundreds of young professionals in his hometown.

Mr. Gupta began his professional journey as a Chartered Accountant in 2012, but destiny had bigger plans. In 2016, he made his first foray into entrepreneurship by launching Venturesathi, an online service platform. Like many first ventures, it was short-lived. Limited opportunities, lack of mentorship, and minimal guidance forced the closure of the company within a couple of years.

But instead of being disheartened, Mr. Gupta saw the failure as a stepping stone. In September 2022, armed with fresh energy, clarity of vision, and a determination to create large-scale employment in his city, he revived Venturesathi. This time, the results were remarkable. In less than three years, he scaled the company from zero to more than 300 employees, working across three 24/7 operational centres in Rourkela—with plans to add capacity for another 180 professionals in the coming months.

For Mr. Gupta, the mission has always been larger than business: to create thousands of jobs in Odisha so that young talent no longer needs to leave their families and migrate to distant metros in search of opportunities.

Launching a global outsourcing firm from a tier-3 city came with a unique set of challenges. Unlike major metros, Rourkela lacked an established ecosystem—no mentors, no roadmap, and no existing companies to model after. Talent acquisition was difficult, convincing global clients was harder, and delivering complex projects at par with international standards seemed nearly impossible.

Mr. Gupta, however, approached these challenges with bold foresight. Instead of waiting for clients to come, he invested first in world-class infrastructure, technology, and global certifications. Venturesathi secured GDPR and PCI DSS compliance, built advanced network architecture, and established physical facilities that rival any international BPO.

“For bigger players, one client is just another client. But for us, that one client is everything—it’s our bread and butter. That’s why they trust us,” Mr. Gupta says. That commitment to personalized excellence helped Venturesathi quickly win trust in global markets.

As a Member of the NASSCOM Regional Council – East and Vice Chairman of the Young Entrepreneur Forum of the Rourkela Chamber of Commerce, he consistently advocates for better infrastructure, policy implementation, and support for startups operating in smaller cities.

He acknowledges the progress made in Bhubaneswar, which is fast emerging as an IT hub, but stresses that cities like Rourkela and Berhampur hold enormous untapped potential. “Infrastructure and people are important, but without effective policy execution, it is difficult for companies like ours to scale and attract more global clients,” he explains.

Having witnessed 14 years of shifts in the outsourcing industry, Mr. Gupta understands how quickly technology is transforming the landscape. The rise of AI and automation tools like ChatGPT has reduced certain job roles but also created space for higher-value services. Venturesathi is preparing for this future by integrating AI and robotic process automation into its operations, ensuring it remains future-ready while continuing to upskill its workforce.

What truly sets Mr. Gupta apart is his sense of purpose. Beyond contracts and clients, what motivates him is the human impact of his work. Many of his employees once had no choice but to migrate to cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, or Gujarat. Today, they work close to their families in Rourkela, pursuing fulfilling careers without leaving their roots.

“Seeing people return home, work happily, and still have good career opportunities—that’s what keeps us grounded,” Mr. Gupta shares with quiet pride.

For young dreamers hoping to build their own ventures, Mr. Gupta’s advice is simple yet profound: focus, stay grounded, and be patient. Success doesn’t arrive overnight. His first client came only after a year of persistence, proving that resilience and collaboration are key to long-term success.

Mr. Rohit Gupta’s journey is more than an entrepreneurial success story—it is a lesson in courage, perseverance, and purpose. From the narrow lanes of a tier-3 city, he has built a company that serves clients across the globe. Through Venturesathi, he is not only generating employment but also inspiring a generation, reshaping communities, and proving that with determination and vision, global excellence can indeed emerge from the most unexpected places.
