Q1) When did you start writing and what was your first writing experience like ?
I had been writing small bits and pieces here and there for a long time, a poem or two, but I never really thought I would become an author. It was only around 2016 when I first put my pen down on writing a story. At that time also, I did not think it would be made into a book.I started to write one page a day and somehow I managed to do that over a period of time which led to my first book FOREVER been written. It has been a very unique experience for a finance person to write about romance and mystery and I think I found my alter ego in writing books on a subject completely different than my academic pursuits.
Q2) “Forever” and “Forbidden” have been a result of your hardwork ! Tell us about how you came up with the idea ?
I never thought I would write romantic fiction murder mystery, but when I wrote FOREVER, I thought it was possible. I am writing a trilogy now and with Forever and Forbidden being the first two books in the chain. The idea is to write these books with a very important social message. Forever was about love v/s lust. Forbidden is about midlife crisis. And my future books will also contain some sort of a social message while being romantic thrillers.
Q3) Do you think an author has to specialize in a particular genre ? Or one can have expertise in many genres ?
I don’t think any author should type cast themselves, just like an actor would like to play various roles. Interestingly, my third book is not a romantic thriller but is in the nature of a self-help mystical book. I think this helps me delve into different creative abilities that I possess and is more fulfilling then writing books in one genre.
Q4) You also have interest in writing poems, how do you find time in the busy schedule to write poems !
The poems I have written a part of my book and they carry the story forward. Once you read the books, you realize that the poems are an integral part of the subject and the writing of the poems was a part of the writing of the book and the time for it got allotted in the same way.
Q5) What is your advice to the new generation authors ?
One of the biggest problems today is that people have lost their habit of reading books because there are so many other modes of entertainment and passing of time available including social media, smart phones, OTT channels etc.I would advise authors not to get discouraged by not finding many buyers to read their book. Rather, take your hobby as a passion and keep writing.Another advice I would give would be not to make writing a book into an unsurmountable task. Because if you think of writing a book you may think it is impossible, but if you decide to break it up into one page a day, you will find within a year you have a beautiful book in your hands. The book is available on Amazon and can be brought from https://amzn.eu/d/1TWOhfi
