There are multiple outstanding warrants against Faizal Shaikh, also known as Alimama, including four non-bailable warrants and five production warrants. In a complaint filed with the Narpoli police in Bhiwandi, the Thane police even used harsh MCOCA provisions against him and others.
On Sunday night, a member of the Irani gang, which is notorious for chain stealing and cheating, was apprehended. 56 offences have been reported against the accused, Faizal Shaikh aka Alimama, at 20 police stations in Mumbai and Thane.

A number of warrants are also active against Shaikh, including four non-bailable orders and five production warrants. In a complaint filed with the Narpoli police in Bhiwandi, the Thane police even invoked severe sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against him and others.

“We were looking for him because of many incidents against him that had been reported, the most recent of which being a chain-snatching case reported in April 2022. Another chain-snatching instance that occurred in Khopoli a few months ago was the most recent offence against him, according to a MIDC police officer. This was the officer’s fourth effort to apprehend Shaikh, he said.
