For the first time in State, nutri-cereals will be included in the food list of jail inmates. Keeping in view the health of the jail inmates, this innovative step has been taken by the Odisha government.
On behalf of Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, a Millet food tasting festival under the initiative ‘Piloting of Millets in Directorate of Prisons and Correctional Services’ has been organized through Odisha Millets Mission today at Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar.
Attending the event as Chief Guest, Principal Secretary of Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Arabinda Kumar Padhee, emphasised on benefits of nutri-grains. He explained how it is benefiting farmers and how it can help in keeping the jail inmates fit and healthy.
