The year 2021 has already come with fresh enthusiasm and happiness; US President-elect Joe Biden shared a New Year’s Eve message calling for the nation to unite, heal, and rebuild in 2021.
The whole of 2020 was a completely devastating year due to the Nobel coronavirus’s outburst, which took millions of people their lives and livelihood. Mr. Biden wrote – “The challenges we face as a nation will not disappear overnight, but as we look forward to the start of a new year, I’m filled with fresh hope about the possibilities of better days to come. After a year of pain and loss, let us unite, heal, and rebuild in 2021.”
As per the reports, the United States is the worst affected by the COVID pandemic, where more than 19 million cases are filled along with 344,000 people who have succumbed to the virus. The US has also seen months of social unrest this year as protests erupted over the deaths of Black Americans George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmad Arbery.
As per the reports of ‘The Hill,’ the US President’s message of unity has been throughout most of 2020. Even earlier this year, during the Democratic primary, MR. Biden maintained that he could make deals to get things done for the American people and serve as a uniting force in a country that appears to be politically divided.
Mr. Biden also nominated Kathleen Hicks to be deputy secretary of defense, making her the first woman to hold the Pentagon number two position if the Senate confirms her. She is currently at the Center for Strategic, and International Studies think tank in Washington.
