The State Government requested different industries in the state for the supplement, the Naveen Jindal Chairman Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. Angul has arranged two cryogenic tankers, with a capacity of 16 Mt each, for the supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen in the state.
According to the official report, during the recent meeting, Odisha based industries and senior officials from the Government of Odisha which included Asit Tripathy, Principal Advisor to CM, V Karthikeya Pandian, Secretary to CM (5T), Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary, Industries and Dr Nitin Jawale, MD IPICOL, the industries functioning in the state were demanded to develop forward to support the State Government, through their CSR initiatives, in contending the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Along with the Oxygen cylinders, Oxygen concentrators and PSA Oxygen plants the industries were asked to investigate possibilities of rendering LMO tankers. While in the meeting, Naveen Jindal volunteered to supply and within a week two tankers were arranged by the company.
After the second surge of the Covid-19in India, Odisha has been providing Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to different states across the country.
As per the report as of now, Odisha has sent date more than 14000 MT of LMO to 13 states from Odisha. The Odisha Government is guaranteeing sufficient supply within the state too.
Now with the arrival of these two tankers, the LMO supply logistics in Odisha has received a major blow and been additionally established.
