The General Administration and Public Grievance Department has formally announced that former Chief Justice of India Justice Gopal Ballav Patnaik has been nominated to serve on the Odisha Lokayukta selection committee. According to the announcement, the nomination was made on the chairperson’s and the selection committee members’ suggestion.
The appointment has been made in accordance with Section 4(1)(e) of the Odisha Lokayukta Act, 2014 (Odisha Act of 2018). Justice Patnaik, who served as the 32nd Chief Justice of India, will now be part of the committee involved in the selection process for the Odisha Lokayukta.
